About the Role

The Production Manager organizes and coordinates the logistical side of rehearsals and performances of the ECC performances.

Requirements

  • Works closely with the Music Director and Stage Director to prepare and publish the weekly rehearsal schedule with roles/scenes in-mind.

  • Track attendance and inform Music and Stage Director of any excessive or unexcused absences.

  • Send weekly schedule for upcoming rehearsals. Updates membership on any schedule changes.

  • Distribute binders and music, create and distribute nametags, track rehearsal attendance

  • Work with prop and set parent committees to make sure props are secured and set is on-schedule for completion in collaboration with the Stage Director and Music Director.

  • Take notes and notate blocking throughout the rehearsal for the Stage Director and Music Director.

  • Ensure that props and equipment are available and maintained.

  • Work closely with the parent backstage crew on creating an easy to follow document indicating scene changes, prop placement and students entrances and exits.

  • Open and close buildings for rehearsals and performances as requested by management staff.

  • Attend all rehearsals and performances as requested by Music and Stage Director.

  • Act as the liaison between ECC and all perforamance venues and concert vendors.

  • Responsibile for venue contracts and load in/load out requirements.

  • Overseeing sound and lighting engineers, house, and crew.

  • Providing detailed communication with members about performances, schedules, concert logistics, stage direction, etc.

  • Outside Performances

  • Arrange all productions including transportation/extra fees/contracts, etc.

  • All correspondence with parents.

  • Organize Outside Performance uniforms for performances.

  • Collect and track all Outside Performance expenses not related to yearly tuition.

  • Coordinate any travel or out-of-town performances.

  • Attend once per month Board Meetings and be prepared with updates

  • Maintain and uphold a code of respect, discipline and positive working atmosphere with all members, parents, and other staff/contractors.

  • Support all marketing and recruitment efforts of ECC and Prelude.

  • Report to the respective Ensemble’s Stage Director and Business Manager. 


The Production Manager should have experience working with children. Ideally, this experience should include both concert and musical theater performance. This person should also have demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively with the adults of this organization, i.e. parents, artistic staff, business staff and board of directors. 


This is an independent contractor position and compensation is annually determined by the Board of Directors.  Hours vary depending on the time of year.
