About the Role
The Accompanist is responsible for providing the keyboard/piano accompaniment for all rehearsals and performances.
The key responsibilities of this position are:
Be fully prepared to provide piano accompaniment of music that has been provided ahead of time.
Attend and accompany choir at all regular rehearsals, performances and off-site performances as delineated in the annual schedule and/or outlined in the contract.
Rehearsal Schedule Fall: Evergreen Lutheran Church 5980 County Hwy 73, Evergreen
Tuesdays from 4:30 - 6:30pm in September and October
Tuesdays AND Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:30pm in November
Performances: Center Stage in Evergreen, CO
Rehearsals: Dec 4, 5 and 6 from 4:30pm - 7pm
Performances: December 8 - 10th
Outside Appearances: Further outside performances, tbd and therefore not mandatory at this point
Be on time to rehearsals and stay as long as needed and/or requested by the Director.
Participate in the audition process by providing accompaniment and note/pitch check as instructed by the Director. Assist in the selection process.
Auditions - August 22nd at 4:30pm at Evergreen Lutheran Church
Find your own substitute and make arrangements for payment if it is necessary to miss a rehearsal or performance as approved by the Director.
Arrange to transport, set-up and take-down ECC’s keyboard equipment or own keyboard to off-site rehearsals and performances.
Support all marketing and recruitment efforts of ECC.
Implement and uphold a code of respect, discipline and positive working atmosphere with all members, parents, and other staff/contractors.
Report to the Music Director and Business Manager.
The Accompanist should have experience working with children. Ideally, this experience should include both concert and musical theater performance. This accompanist should ideally have an ability to play chord charts, make key changes, sight read music and follow cues from the children and Director as needed.
Compensation is $80/rehearsal.

The Evergreen Children’s Chorale (ECC) is a 501(c)(3) community arts organization that was formed more than 31 years ago, in response to a need in the mountain area for a high-quality music performance ensemble specifically designed for children.
